Default Need some torque converter advice

I'm building a 80 Malibu that weights about 3100-3200Lbs. Engine is a turbo'd LS1, TH400 and 3.73 gears. The car will see street time as well as the track. This is my first turbo type car and I know i have to get the rpms up off the line for the boost to come up. What size converter would be best? I heard about a Harlan 2 step but am not totally clear what it does or if they are even still available. Just looking for more ideas now.

Thanks

depends on where the torque peak comes in and how much street driving.

I've used J.W. convertors for years and never had a problem. Recently swapped from a TH350 to a TH400 and swapped from a 3400 stall 10" to a 3800 stall 10". not much difference on the street but in 1.52 range on the track for a mild 383 set-up in a 3500 lb car.

Just my $.02, but can't say a bad thing about em!

I just ordered one from ATI yesterday. I spoke with John (I guess it is the same guy) he was very helpful and seemed happy to help me choose the right converter.
