Shortening axles and stock rims.
How much axle can I cut and still be able to use the stock rims?
I would like to shorten the axle 2.5" on each side but I know it probably isn't feasible, what is? I'd be willing to live with a small spacer.

I understand that, really don't care to be honest.
As long as she gets it done at the track .
She's still a driver so stock rims are a must for street duty.

After doing a search, even before this thread was started, I didn't find any information.
I figured I might as well check it for myself since nobody responded. I used a tape measure to see what kind of clearance there was between the fender well, LCA, bump stop and the tire. There is about a 1.5" clearance between the fender well/LCA and the wheel/tire. Keep in mind I'm using 245 555R Nittos. Even less clearance between the bumpstop and the tire BUT you can actually, beat/grind/cut the bump stop.
The most I can cut the axles per end is 1.5" ,and thats cutting it too damn close, before a spacer or modifications to the stock rim are required to reduce the amount of back spacing. I'm running on 16" x 8" stockers currently.

I want to do the same, but so far custom rims are the only answer if you really want a lighter rear end... plus the benefit of deep dish rims...
But paying 1500+ for bogarts and another 2000+ for custom street rims..
boooyaaaa!
