Default What OD driveshaft for full weight car?

What size driveshaft is everyone running? My car weighs approx. 3600-3700 lbs. and I am running a TH400 with a transbrake. My car makes about 750rwhp and 600 rwtq. Will I be OK with a 3.0" Chromoly driveshaft or should I step up to a 3.5"?

Is there really a need to go any bigger than a 3" diameter?

What ujoints are in it? At your weight/power I would not use less than 1350 joints. Go to www.markwilliams.com for some shaft info. Some fast cars are running 3.0 inch steel shafts...but they are lighter.

I will be running 1350 u-joints, I am just wondering if a 3" shaft will be able to hold my power with my weight. I was going to get a DynoTech 3.0" Chromoly driveshaft.

I've got a 3.50 dia steel shaft with 1350's on each end and a t400 yoke that was custom built for a t400 and 12 bolt combo that I'll sell ya shipped for $175 if it will fit your combo.

Is it a Chromoly shaft? Can you go here http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/html/b.html and give me the measurements that you come up with for #6? I am running a 9" rear, so I do not know if it will work or not, but if you can give me the #6 measurement I can find out. This is the only reference I have, the transmission is not in the car yet.

Thanks anyway, but that one would be too short for me.

Just to let everyone know, I talked with Dynotech Engineering (this is who I am ordering from) and they said that the 3.0" chromoly would be fine for my application. The 3.5" would be recommended for a longer shaft. Thanks guys.
