Default Screws for M/T Et Radials ??

Just wondering if it would be a p.i.t.a. (as far as leaks) if I put screws into my ET street radials.

My Pro Stars already have holes from the slick screws, I was just wondering how it would look w/o the screws in the radials ...whew...

Any opinions?

Kev

I will be doing this. If they hook anywhere near the ET Drags they will need them.

I wouldn't, but I don't run screws on my slicks either and they don't move. It seems some guys running in the 7s and 8s screw them, but I'd run them without. And it doesn't look to run wheel without the screws and leave the holes IMHO.

I've never made enough power to spin my slicks either, and I've never drilled my wheels. These came this way and I just didn't want to screw up (funny huh...) the tires.

I think I'll leave em off. If nothing else, ought to be usefull to weed out the non-educated onlookers....I can tell em the holes are for weight reduction.

Thanks guys

With the air pressures that you should run with the radials, I doubt you'll need the screws.

I got a little rotation till the soap dried out of the bead, then they set up nicely.

I am only cutting 60's in the high 1.4, 1.5 range, but I have seriously turned the DR's on the rims a couple times 8-9". But looking back, both times were when I had the tires mounted and went to the track within the next few days.

Best to wait until the tires have really seated before going to the track - they seem to hold on the rims a lot better! Or at least only turn 1" on each pass!
