Do you think I will pick up anything by changing out my 98 cam for a 02 cam

currently have a stock 98 shortblock with some stock 241 heads .my car is light I'm thinking about 3200-3300 race weight with me running a 3.42 gear with a ST3500 stall cutting 1.6x 60 ft and trapping 115-117 with times ranging from 11.62-11.85 .

I know some will say just put a big cam in it but I'm trying to stay stock till the end of sept. Then I'll put my heads and cam on the car.

dont waste your time for a 2002 cam... its actually smaller than the 98 i believe...


98 needed bigger cams to keep up becuase of the crappy heads...

yeah the '98s had a bigger cam AFAIK. With the addition of the LS6 intake to the '01 motors, they reduced the cam size to help with emissions.

if you wanna do any stock cam to a 02 z06 cam it's a good cam if ya wanna be a sleeper

He's got 241 (01-02) heads on the car already.

Joey, I think you should stop messing around put a real cam in it

yeah but I have to get more money saved up for hptuners to go along with a nice cam..but I'll be good come this winter
