Staging Question
It seems no one on a test an tune night knows how, or just doesn't want to stage correctly? Whenever I make a pass I usually get up to the line second because of a longer burnout, and the other guy always just goes right up and lights both bulbs before I even get up there. Does this bother anyone else? WHat ever happen to waiting for both to pre-stage, then move in? Sorry, maybe just a rant, but if I happen to stage first, I will light the first bulb and wait, but usually then the other guy just rolls right through both anyway... geez....

I'm used to this on TNT nights, and I usually stage last so I'm not waiting on a newbie. As long as you are focused it really doesn't matter. I don't let it rush me into doing something I'm not ready for, and light the bulbs as normal. I agree, it can be a pain looking up after just finishing a burnout and the other car has both lights lit.

Its kinda like a courtesy to wait..but i have seen some guys that take forever and think they are John Force for no reason, then red light or still get there ***'s handed to them.. Usually in T and T, i try to hang with someone i know..

Yep. They just don't have any etiquette. Actually I first started to do that when I got into racing. Then a old veteran told me how to do it right. But I agree it sucks sometimes. -Mark

I think most people who show up to T & T nights just don't know. Maybe tracks should come up with a list of common dragstrip ettiquite.
I usually wait, I'm always careful putting my car in the beams anyway (even racing my 17 second Lumina).

Ha! I don't think this gets much worse than at Irwindale on a Thurs. night TnT. I love it when a honda sits staged with his engine @ 4K while I'm finishing my burnout. And then I take my sweet time pre-staging, brake-torquing, then bumping in to stage.
Maybe I shouldn't be such an a**hole and let them know the proper etiquette, but it's fun
