Default newbie @ the track

I have a 00 formy. Mods are 224/224 tr cam 112 w/ 918 springs, stage 2 jantzer ported 241 heads, ls6 intake, jet hot headers/ ory, magnaflow catback, slp intake, asp pulley, slp electric fan, 4k yank converter, trans go shift kit, 12 bolt, 3.73, 33 spline axles, and slp h.o hood. !egr free air mod. Problem is that my wheel startin' turning when i stall @ 2500rpms. If i have a 4k stall converter should i be able to stall close to that or should i take off at 2k to 2500rpms. Should i take my car back and set it to stall higher. I was told to lauch at 2k. Anyone w/ similar mods what are your times. Any advice? I went to a 1/8 mi track and i sucked. ran 7.8 at 88mph. 60ft was 1.7. I still have the stock plugs and wires and i do a complete tune up also more experience i should get in 7.5s right? would appreciate some advice on any methods or small things i can do to be quicker.

You don't want to stall the rating on your converter. You want the convertor to flash some to allow the car's suspension to work. My converter in the Nova is about 3800 stall and I footbrake it to about 1800-2000 on the launch. Has the car been tuned (not talking hypertech or similar) to take advantage of the upgraded parts? The 1.7 60 foot and et/mph seem close and not off, but maybe I'm wrong thinking the car should be faster.

My mods are...

224/228 .585 .585 112LSA
3600 stall
LT's
LS6 Intake
Weight Reduction
Bone stock suspension w/ 150,000 plus on it.

I run between 7.5 and 7.6's all day w/ a decent launch @ 91 mph. I also have stock 2.73's. So IMO you should take a closer look @ your tune. Seems like it might be holding you back some?
