This is the first car I have ever ran something other than slicks on. Trying out some 275 50 15 M/Ts.
What a good baseline to start with a full weight car?

I'm running 12-13 lbs, if I were you Id start at like 18 lbs and dropdown from there. At our lousy track in Orlando, we call it "Orlando Spin World", the traction sucks, they are yoo cheap to prep it properly.

I was running 22 PSI and though I got an occasional perfect launch with no spin, it was a hit and miss proposition in my car. I dropped down to 18 PSI, heat the tires really well and now they hook every time. 1.591 60' time now which is right there with my best time on slicks. I launch at 2800 RPM against the converter and pretty much mat the gas off the line. Mine are 275/50-15's mounted on Bogart Welded RT's that are 9.75" wide.

i have seen other guys go lower that are running 1.3 60' times. for me, when i went low i spun.

12-13 is too low IMHO.
I can't help myself but to comment everytime I see someone complain about OSW. Could they prep it a lot better... absolutely! Could you put as much into your suspension as you do trying to make power? Probably a better approach than blaming a track.

You guys that are running 22 PSI all the time, is that hot or cold? I think I'm going to try going back up to 22 PSI again tonight and see what happens. Temps in the mid 90's today so I'm probably not making enough power to spin the tires anyhow.

I run very different tire pressures depending what track I am at. of our 2 local tracks, one I can run between 22-24psi depending on track temp where as the other track I tend to run 18-20 psi max. I have also found that anything under 17psi the tires begin to go away on me so if I get to 17 psi and still don't hook I just call it a day.

I don't see how you guys can launch at 20-22 psi and get any traction. Launching, at the track I go to, over about 3,000 rpm, all I do is bounce off the rev limiter. Pinks did a few segments at Orlando Speed World and one guy in a Vette almost hit the wall the traction was so bad.

BTW, Strobel's Vette can click off 7's.
