Default ET gains from LT header install

How much time will can be lowered from a LT Header install. I was reading on another site, and they were saying .3-.4 gains in et. I find this hard to believe. I just wanna now what you guys think.

A lot of i will depend on what mods you already have on your car.
A lot will also depend on the amount of tuning you have done on your car after the install.

I understand that, but what is the typical time gain from just headers.

Every car will react different. Just for example... I had a stock 1987 GTA with a 350 tpi. It ran a 15.2 bone stock. I put short tube headers on and it ran a 14.7.

I don't know if this is typical or not but I went from 7.81 @ 87 to 7.53 @ 90 with no other changes when I installed the Hooker LT's on my car. This was untuned for the headers. After tuning I picked up another .05 and almost a MPH but in all fairness to the tune, the tranny took a dump at the track the first time after the tune so I didn't get to make a good pass to accurately compare.

I showed a .2 gain in the 1/4 but not untill after the tune.
Before the tune I had no gain in the 1/4

I ran 13.3@106 w/lid,flowmaster CB and with headers/pulley/nittos/kooks/ORY/4.10's got the car around 12.5@110 IIRC.The cam was the real wake up call.

longtubes will gain about 20 hp or .2 tenths, the stock exhaust with a cutout actually flows pretty well, that is why i haven't got any yet, they are really only worth it if you have a cam...talk to 11secss he has done some valid back to back testing on it, with similar da's

I would say .2-.3 is typical for a LS1 to gain. I'm sure .4 happens occasionaly but that could also be because they added a catback or cutout at the same time or had tuning issues that were resolved. The biggest issue is whether or not the car runs rich or lean after the install. Mine for example ran wicked lean and the gains didn't show up until I got a dyno tune. Then I gained a solid .3 in the quarter mile (went from a 12.8-12.9 to a consistent 12.5-12.6).

I haven't gain anything untuned with my 2000 SS. I know it is running real rich with a worse 60' but the same 1/4 mile time with a 1mph gain. Better times soon as it is getting tuned next week...........

So far I can't say any gain here. I'm running slower now. SLPs ORY through a Flowmaster.
