Default crash bars in the doors

whats the best way to get the bars out of the doors
i am in the process of doing a lot of weight reduction and would like to remove the bars also, thanks for any help brad

I don't know if its the same but I removed them from my 3rd gen. I used an air powered die grinder-just get safety glasses cause it throws some sparks!
also have a wet rag or water in case of fire

thanks i thought i seen on here where some one had drilled a hole and slid it right out

Have you run a search. I know there are a couple of posts on how to's.

I believe there is a way without hacking up the car.

Cool write up. Never thought about going into the front fender. Mine are getting lose and almost ready to fall out.

I just think it was easier to drill the hole in the lower part of the door since its easier to take it out that way plus its less work....IMO.

or the weight and safety factor i dont think its worth it, BUT when you start removing this and that and add up all the little stuff, you'll be surprised what you come up with!

Just last week I was looking at these trying to figure out how to get them out. I guess I'll have to pull the door panels and give it a try.

Cut a hole near the bottom end of the curve and it slides right out and you can NEVER see the hole unless your actually under the car.
