Default 1st Gen camaro or LS1 T/A make a better drag car?

im looking to build a fast street/drag car. i really like both 1st gen camaros and the ls1 trans ams. which would make a better drag car? eitherr way the car will have a big single turbo LS1 in it and a turbo 400 trans. i like driving my cars on the street so it will be streetable and wil be driven up to 100 miles a week. i figure the trans am may be a better route becasue i can get one for around ten grand and it already has an ls1 in it while the camaro might be a little more oeny and id have to install the ls1 in it. what do you guys think?

Thanks
Jesse

I agree with your last statement. The trans am would already have the ls1 in it as for the camaro, you would have to do the swap completely over. I would have to go with the trans am. Another thing, if you were to find a 1st gen camaro, most likely it would need some body work and so forth.

Again, as a 1st gen owner I say just go for the new T/A. If you wanted one fast and it didn't have to have a LS1 I'd say go for the first gen but it'd be way cheaper/easier to just buy a car with a LS1 already in it.
