Default I'm an IDIOT

So I raced at NED tonight... Anyways, My best 60' was 2.28 and best time was 13.8 @ 104.5 w/ 2.33 60'. I was really expecting low 13's all night long, and maybe get a 12.9 if I could get it to hook, but most of my runs were 14.2.

As for me being an idiot... My cooling fan 2 has a control circuit problem, and I dont like the car going above lik 180*, so when I'm racing I always have the heat on full blast so it sucks the heat out of the engine bay. However, I dont put it on vent, I put it on defroster because when its 90* out with jeans on and a helmet in a black car, it tends to get hot and I dont want that heat coming right at me. What I failed to remember was that the defroster is run with the A/C!

I was wondering why my A/C can was always condesating when I never had the cold air on?

I figure I would have gone low 13's even with the 2.3 60' with the A/C off... Meh, I'll see next week.

i believe if i remember right they have two modes of switching off the a/c on those cars one is if the rpms go above 4000 rpm and at WOT i doubt having the A/C on affected your times at all...that is if i remember correctly

yea, ive always heard a/c cuts off at wot so that shouldnt have been it...just crappy conditions maybe. did you make sure no washer fluid, spare tire/jack, 1/4 tank of gas, etc. grab a bag of ice and throw it on intake manifold if you had to drive a long way...

Your only problem was the 2.2 60 footers. A couple of tenths off of those will pay off big.

im really surprised the track guys didnt get on your *** for dropping water all over the track. I woulda been pissed.

Also, the A/C DOES cut off so its not sucking power, and it seems dumb to me to race with the heat on full blast. Your car should cool down plenty between passes.

Compressor was turned off, but the blower motor may have been sucking some power via alternator.

I would never turn my heater on. Period!!!!!!!!!!

You need to get your fan settings right and just go racing.

Please let me know where you race so I can never be there. Dude, dripping water on a track is a real bad idea, lucky someone didn't lose control and crash. Shame on the track officials for not tossing you out. Sorry, don't mean to bash you, but this is a serious mistake that could hurt someone or your self.
