Default "Late Model Shootout" at Drag Warz II

Wheel to Wheel Powertrain has signed on to sponsor a special class heads-up Late Model Shootout class during Milan Dragways ‘Drag Warz II’ in September. The muscle car era of the 60’s and early 70’s was crushed by emissions controls regulations, but American ingenuity has persevered and today’s muscle car engines are just as powerful and more reliable then they were back then. This class is to allow late model V8’s to get the respect they are due, by proving themselves at the strip.

The class is a sequel to the “GM Ford Late Model Shootout’ held last season. To expand the events appeal, the new DCX HEMI is invited, to round out the modern muscle car performance market. To continue the events expansion, the purse for winning was increased from $800 to $2000, and the runner up purse has gone from $200 to $500.

The class will be one of several competing at ‘Drag Warz’, held September 22nd – 24th. Other heads-up classes include; 10.5 Outlaw also sponsored by Wheel to Wheel Powertrain, “Run What Ya Brung” door slammer, Drag Radial, All Motor and Sport Bike. Qualifying and racing for the Late Model Shootout will all take place on Saturday, September 23rd. There is no additional entry fee for any car which fits class rules and pays to enter another class during the weekend long event. There is a $50 fee for participants entering just the Late Model Shootout.

We're interested to know how many will turn out, so post are appreciated

One class and it is part of the overall event. Basic rules are just as you read. You have one of those engines and meet the rules, then you are good to go.
