Dude, if you look at the stock kmember it sits below the oil pan, so you actually don't need syab's with a stock kmember, mine's saved me quite a few times!
But ive got a WAYYYYYYYYYYY deeper oil pan now and it sits almost 1in lower than the stocker.

Maybe put some limiters on it so it doesn't come down hard enough to hurt it?
Heres a retarded idea, it just popped into my head so don't flame me: What if you made something like what they use for bumper shocks? You know, how they are designed to compress on impact? You could put one on each side with a plate on the bottom. I bet you could pull them from old G bodies in the yard for $10 a pair.You would have to make a bracket of some sort to mount them.
Or how about putting a small pnuematic tire right at the center of the K member?

Couple of pecies of mild steel square tube i think would work, just get whatever size you need to be lower then your oil pan. I would be light, crush on impact, cheap, easy to fab and replace.
