Default Mickey Thompson 255/50/16 DRs

I hear the Mickey Thompson drag radials are the stickiest available.

My question is will I be able to hook on my combo? Assume dumping the clutch at the peak of my torque curve which is about 4,700 rpms - this is through a Moser 12 bolt w/ 4.10s but no other suspension mods. Power at launch should be a little under 400 rwtq and roughly 375 rwhp.

Second question is, would the BFGs also hold? They appear to be the better street choice of the two, and I have a 120 mile round trip when I head to the track.

The BFG's will hook good too, but I would o with the M/T's. They will last longer, and dont pick up every stone like the gummy tread in the BFG's.

Interesting... I thought the MTs were stickier and shorter lived than the BFGs. Either way it sounds like I should get a big improvement, my 4 year old nitto's haven't yielded any better than a 1.83

Tried the MT drag radials, same size as you're asking, for the first time last night, launched at 4,000 and got enough traction to bog the engine down. Wanted to go again, but the line was waaaay too long and my friends wanted to go home. Huge changed from street tires and feathering out the clutch at low rpms.

I've got MT DR's 275X40X17. They spin like crazy and I hit the rev limiter even at a 3,000 rpm launch. I called Kevin at Mickey Thompson and he told me that their DR's should not be used on M6 cars. I think they are a great tire for an A4 but not a M6. I'm waiting for Weld or Centerline to come out with a 15" wheel that doesn't require caliper grinding and will get ET streets.

Thats encouraging... I've never come close to hooking at anything > 3,500 rpms.

I leave at 6000 - 7000 rpms and pull pretty consistent 1.59-1.62 on a decent track but if the track sucks, the tires will not do much. on a good track though they will be quicker tehn the m/t et streets. My times are on the same size you asked for.

waiting on my 275x60x15 m/t drag radials to see what I can get with those. Staying with my 4.30 gears for now to spray but will end up with 4.56's for all motor.
