Pics of 315/60/15 MT DR's with mini-tubs This past week I picked up a set of Mickey Thompson ET street radials for the Formula. I picked them up for a great price, plus I have researched and they work as good as a full slick does. Figured I would give them a shot.
The tire size is a 315/60/15 (30"x13.5"), on a 5.5" backspacing wheel, car has mini-tubs and a narrowed Moser 12 bolt rearend (2.5-3" per side).
A little trimming was required, but that was already done by NRC-Motorsports when the car was built.
I went with this size tire so I can keep the 4.56 gear in the car while I spray large amounts of nitrous

Yeah, there is no motor in the car so thats why it is high in the front. Once the motor is in it will be just about perfect IMO.

That's sweet, the day I finally have the cash to buy a LS1 car that's the direction I want to take it.... Note: I can't stand when my car doesn't have a motor in it... it looks goofy and you know you have more work to do haha, mine would look a whole lot better to me if I had your wheels.

I'm guessing that since its a radial, its not gonna balloon or expand while rotating? Thats a hot looking car, did you have to grind the rear calipers to clear the wheel of the brakes?

There isn't any grinding required as I have Wilwood 4 piston race brakes on the rear. There NO WAY these will fit on a stock car. NRC-Motorsports did the Mini-tubs, narrowed the rearend I think 2.5' per side, and with the addition of the 5.5" backspacing wheels.......and thats pretty much what it will take to fit these under one of these cars.
As for the front wheels, no they are not spindle mount wheels. I would of liked that setup, but to switch over to a spindle front end was alot more than I wanted to spend at this time.

Did you have to run drag brakes up front to fit the front wheels?

As for having extra corn.......theres a few acres of it out there

that will look great once all the weights in the car and it drops down... my father should have kept that car 
I have that same tire under mine now...
it should hit the ground this weekend..then i'll post some good pics...
