Default Engine Damper instead of motor mounts

I have seen a few companies make kits that is a small shock labeled as an engine damper/dampener that you attach to the chassis and then the engine. Instead of putting in poly or solid motormounts they use this to help control the engine rocking and it doesnt transfer as much vibrations.

Has anyone experimented with something like this on an LS1? If one were to try it what would be the best location for installation, I do not know which way the engine rocks on launch/shifting.
