Default How to Launch a cam only, full bolt on, 10 bolt, with 342's

Alright went to the track last night, and I found out I need a lot more practice than I had thought I would need.

Anyways mods are:

G5x2 cam
full bolt on
10 bolt with 342's
853 heads

Dynoed 426/394

Anyways, my first 3 runs were no burnout runs

1st:
2,500 rpms, slipped real slow, spun real bad stayed in it hit 2nd, then missed 3rd.....13.9 2.1 60'

2nd
2,800 rpms, slipped slow spun pedeled it, hit 2nd, 3rd and went 13.030. 2.1 60'

3rd
3,400 rpms, slipped faster, small burnout, blew 3rd....13.3 1.9 60'

4th run
3,600 60', decent burnout, 1.956 60' 12.730 @ 109.99

Mind you I swapped from an a4 to an m6, and these were my first runs ever with the car. It truely isn't easy to run the 400+ car. Just looking to see what I could do and what I can try. 10 bolt and 342's isn't too great either

Thanks again everyone.

PS, shifting faster is something I will need to work on too

mcloed adj master cylinder, new clutch. that will net you 11s as is.

then 12 bolt.

are you still having shifting problems in high rpm?

No, not having the shifting problem higher in the RPM range. I don't think so at least. 3rd was weird to miss 2x. I don't know if that's clutch or master. Hey Brandon I do have an adjustable master.

Anyways, does anyone else have any advice on how to launch this car? Should I try slipping it from 5000-5500 rpms??? And also maybe a smaller drag radial (mine now is a 315 nitto)

That trap speed is awfully low for a cam only car.

a rim change alone will give you 2-3 mph... then learning to shift faster/ more consistent. will help... dont worry about the launch too much... learning to launch is easier on the street cause there is no pressure... just go out front of your house and practice launching until you feel it get better chris.

Yes my speed is awfully low. I have to practice more. Like I said, I'm new to the racing a 6 speed car. My car went 12.55 @ 111 with headers intake exhaust.....Now with full bolt on, cam only, 6 speed 12.7 @ 110. Now I got to learn to drive it
