Default Floor modifications for 9" rear?

For all you guys with lowered drag cars running 9" rears. Are you having to cut and box the rear of the tunnel for third member clearance? I hear alot of people complaining that their isn't much clearance? Is it really that bad?

Thanks,
Andrew

in big mikes car we had to section the tunnel up to the ebrake for the torque arm mount and torque arm.. on my car i remade just the rear portion of the tunnel because we made our own torque arm mount and torque arm... so to answer your question yes..

I haven't moved or boxed the tunnel on mine, but it is VERY close and I am not sure what will have to be done until I get the motor in and the car running. I think it will clear fine but be very tight. I can jack the rearend up all the way till the shocks are fully compressed and it doesn't hit, but cars do funny things once everything is in there and things settle in.

I was going to mini tub when the 10 point goes in so I guess I can plan on doing the tunnel too. I was thinking of going with the shorter Alston TA since I'm going to run a Power Glide and then maybe I'll switch to Wolfe or Madman TA when I can afford to build a motor that will make some power.

Thanks, for the pics Bob.

mine had to be adjusted just a little with a hammer to make room for the TA bolts. I have the Eibach pro kit springs on the back so it isn't too low though.
