Default Can you over tire a car?

Is it possible to hook to well? I just put on my prostars with new et drags and skinnies in frt. They are 26 tall by 10. On motor i did 430 hp. I launch at 6500rpm and drop the clutch and it hooks dead and boggs down to like 3800. How can i keep it from bogging so bad? On spray there are no problems.

Excellent advice, there is a certain amount of spin that is good.

are you just holding it at 6500 and dumping it......if the petal is not on the floor its going to bog....make sure its on the hammer as youre dropping the clutch...with my old ws6 i used the same tires and skinnies you did only i had bogart wheels and very little weight reduction....i would drop the hammer at 6600 with 390 gears and the rpms would hang at 5000 for a sec and then off i went then it was time to shift already.....whats youre limiter....if that doesnt work try dumping higher....it cant be bogging to bad for you with a 1.6 60ft

My limiter is only 6700. The 1.6 was when i was running 275-40-17 et streets which actually worked better than the new rims on motor. I might not have been full throttle soon enough after the dropping of clutch. Ill try to make sure i am next time. Thanks for the help.

You can easily have too much tire on a car.
