Default Ok Probably A Stupid Question..but?

i was out at the track over the weekend and it was pretty hot out mid 90's. but i heard a couple of guys talking about how the DA's where high i the 2400 to 2500 range. i was just wondering if anyone knows what they are talking about and how it affects the car runnning?
thanks

DA = Density Altitude
aka - The altitude your motor thinks its at. Basically you can physically be at one elevation (say sea level) but because of weather conditions the atmospheric pressure on the motor may be equal to that of say 1000' above sea level.
Thats about all I know about it... Hopefully someone else will chime in on what weather conditions affect it and how.
I too would like some further education on this one plz!

^^^ pretty much sums it up. The lower the DA the more oxygen molecules in the air. So 2400+ DA is poop. -Mark

Damn, you to are both near me... Ruchillws6 cant be more than 30min from me anywhere in N.Port and Bitemark46 your a bit over an hour away.
Im in Pt.Charlotte

Gotta love BMP, we get sea level DA's one week, 2400' the next...
Bite's sig pic looked an awful lot like BMP, then I saw Tampa and North Port. Small world

I found a calculator available for download a long time ago that would figure Density Altitude based on measured inputs like actual elevation, temp, humidity, baro, etc.. Just cant find the fawking thing!
