Default So I swapped my A4 for a glide...

So I swapped my A4 for a glide... and I would have to say that it was one of the best things I have done with my car! The difference between leaving off the foot brake with an A4 and leaving off the transbrake with the glide is night and day! Here are my most recent results before the glide, both NA and with a 150HP ring kit...

And from this Saturday, my 1st time out with the glide...

Here's a video of my 9.4 run... as you can see from the incar footage, I was so used to the early shifts with my A4 that I short shifted way before the shift light was supposed to come on, it was either that or the shock of my 1st 1.3 sixty foot Without the lockup like my A4 had, I am really screaming through the traps, the shift comes on about 2 seconds before the end... I am going to consider going from a 4.10 to a 3.73 along with adding more spray! I am happy that the car leaves nice and straight. it lifts the tires a little but nothing crazy...

Did you have 410s with the a4? IF so how was it at the track running 10s. What tire were you running.

Yes... I had/have 4.10's... along with a 28" tire... perfect combo for 10's and high 9's... as I get deeper into the 9's I am looking at a gear swap...

No $hit... considering I shifted about 150ft out, it was more like a monoglide tranny

i love when guys with their car setup for 1/8 mile make a trip to ennis (our 1/4 track down here) and it seems like they're in high gear for 1000 feet....damn cars are SCREAMING by the time they cross the traps

I think I need 3.73's... my shift light is set for 6800RPM and it came on 3 seconds before the traps... lord knows what I was revving at!

It's a built up glide that my buddy used to use in his low 7 second 10.5" tire car... I think it's a 1.76 1st... it should be the last tranny I buy

LOL I didnt realize how long you held second until I watched the vid again

3.90s might work perfect for you. It'll slow you down a tad on motor but spray will love it

Looking good. Do you have the car mini tubbed? I would consider going to a 29 or 30" tire, before messing with the gear changes. Then you can adjust the gear to the tire.

What convertor are you running? Is that a 402? Thanks.

I thought the glides were supposed to slow these cars down??.... https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ht=power+glide
If not I would consider one.
