Are swingout door bars legal on a 10 pt cage?

Are swingout door bars legal on a 10 pt cage? It is a street car, so I would like to keep that feature if I can. Car will be running mid to low 9's.

I agree with madman, the structural integrety will be weakened, also if it breaks it could pierce into youfolding inwards, Not good. With that being said I have a 10 point going in with swing outs 
and it will be certified to 8.50

I think in a single digit car with a cage and swing outs a bottom bar must be done up.
I have a swing out in mine, wouldn't have it any other way, but I also did subframe connectors before the bar.

Definitely don't like in a fast car, my vote is for illegal. Maybe 11's and slower,
but 8.50 is nuts, stiff & stronger chassis before not wanting to bend a little.
It's not like you have to have an X and funny car cage.

why wouldnt u just put a couple bends in the bar and have it contour the door panel and then run the rocker bar,then a couple diagonals to the bends it makes it perfectly legal and its soo easy to get in and out, and looks cool..

Not saying that it is a good thing or a bad thing but I have them in my CE and it got a 7.50 cert (will be 8.50 in 07). I've ran that car to many times to count and the bars still fit the same as when they were installed.
I would just like to add that with all the changes that have been made to cages thru the years for safety and the fact that they still allow them. Tells me that they aren't going to cause your death.

I have a swing out on the drivers side. It's certified to 7.50 till spring time, when it's due to be re-certified, it'll be to 8.50 then. I don't think it's a real safety concern with the rocker bar and the way we did it. The car is still unbelievably stiff and has not changed in 10 years and 1000+ passes. I couldn't get in and out of the car very well without it. The car runs real low 9's on the motor and in the 8's with spray.
