because he has a faster car...........just kidding . aside from every car being different the 01 has slightly better heads and intake.my car consistantly traps lower than other cars with similar mods.

Maybe he has 2.73's and you have 3.23's? I've seen the exact same thing here comparing my car (3.23's) to another guy with the same mods but has 2.73's. We run almost identical times, but he usually has a couple mph on me.

Other than that, it just may be the difference in years, later years have better stock manifolds and an LS6 intake. That alone could make up the difference in trap speed, and you're just getting a better launch than him at the track to get the same ET.

What are the sixty foot times?

I would say as already stated the 01 is spinning some which leads to higher MPH.

Maybe he shallow stages and you deep stage. A deep stage on my car knocks off at least 1 mph..

A shallow stage, is when you just barely turn on the 2nd set of stage lights with your front tires. This gives you a couple more feet of roll out, and you get kind of a running start at the 1/4 mile. A deep stage is when you turn on the 2nd set of stage lights, then keep rolling until the 1st set turn out. This gives you less distance to race, not quite a 1/4 mile. A shallow stage usually gives you 1 mph or so, and a deep stage usually knocks off a couple hundredths from your E.T.. It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish for any given pass.

The running start of a shallow stage helps "both" ET and MPH. A deep stage hurts both ET and MPH, but "should" get you to the finish line quicker for bracket racing, if the other guy didnt also deep stage!

Ya, thinking upon it deeper, if you shallow stage and get a run at the clocks, it should help both e.t. and mph. My cars always seemed to lose a tiny bit of of e.t. when I would deep stage though. Only 1 or 2 hundredth's, but maybe that pure coincidence.

WOW!! I just solved my own problem! I always used to compare my timeslips side by side, shallow stage, deep stage. What a dipshit, after all these years. LOL! I used to say to myself, " The car runs slightly slower on a deep", not once realizing, until right now, that it didn't run slower on a deep, it simply ran faster on a shallow! Thanks T6, you got my brain stirred. God I feal stupid
