Default Noob here, Going to the track tommorrow.

1st time Ive ever ran a car, so I need advice. M6 with 410 RWHP, short shifter, textralia clutch and billet steel flywheel.

I took the jack and spare tire out, but Its giving me alot less traction. Should I put them back in? Also, if I start losing traction should I lighten up on the gas or should I wait till redline and shift? I am launching on BFG KDWS 275 with UMI LCAs, relo brackets, PHD and the torque arm.

Should I burn the clutch alot? Should I keep the RPMs at 2800-3000 (peak torque) and launch from there?

Also, Can you guess what I will run?? I hope its a nice day tommorow, the track will be in WPB, FL at moroso motor speedway.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I'd try a 3000rpm clutch dump and slowly roll on the throttle. Tirespin kills all ET, so keep them planted. At full weight, it might go low 12's @ 115-118mph. Sticky tires would help you a lot, along with removing the front sway bar, it does nothing but hold you back at the track. Goodluck!!

Thanks, I will keep it light on the throttle. I seem to either bog or spin durring launches.. Better to bog then spin?

^^im with him lol, but i would say launch at about 2500 and slip the clutch and ease to the throttle from there, otherwise your not going to have an traction lol i would guess a low 13 your first pass and maybe by the end of the day a low 12 at about 116-118

I have the stocker gears in my Z. I wish I had 410s :-/ I will see how busy it is, I dont want to wait around forever for a second run.

Also, I will be needing new tires soon, what do yall recomend? I drive her daily but I would like a nice sticky tire.

Oh I thought you had 4:10's, sorry.
I would take out the spare and jack. As you get faster and more used to racing you're going to look to lose some weight out of the car so you might as well start now and this way as you work on your set up you're not relying on extra weight for traction.

I couldnt get into 2nd OR 3rd ALL NIGHT! It had to grind into both gears... Thanks, textralia. Im going to re-bleed the system and find out why we are having this problem.

Could I have screwed up anything by forcing it into gear?

Plus it felt like 80 degrees on the track with a 99% humidity... There was dew all over my car all night long.
