MT ET drags 29.50x11.50x15~~ have you?
well im about to order some serious slicks and i was wondering if anyone has fit these with out cuting your fenders and just using the BFH mod .....
here are the specs on these tires
Tire Diameter (in): 29.90 in.
Minimum Recommended Rim Width (in): 10.00 in.
Maximum Recommended Rim Width (in): 12.10 in.
Tread Width (in): 11.10 in.
Section Width (in): 13.60 in.
the mt et street radial has a section width of 13.1 so this is only a 1/2 inch bigger!
do you have pics

You have to cut your fenders using a 28" slick your darn sure going to have to cut for a 30". The Section Width may only be 1/2" bigger (which is a lot when you already have to use the BFH mod to get the 28's to clear), but the circumference is alot bigger. Remember, a slick grows about an additional inch as well. I have seen 29" slicks on a camaro before and you have to cut alot more out than you do a 28" slick. Like stated, a 28 x 10.50 will hold more than you can throw at it.

i dont see why you need that big of a tire to launch. how much power are you making? i see you have the 325 radials. try a smaller rear gear, which will help spool the turbo and keep you in your power band longer. also it will shock the tires less.
IMO smaller gear is the best sollution and keeping with the smaller tire theme as well.

Bigger tires are a pain in the butt. My car is cut for the bigger tire and I am going down in tire size to make the car go faster. There are people on 28in tall tires hauling some serious ***. But I can go up to a 29.5/10.5W if I need to. I don't think you want to go through that big hassle unless you plan on making over 1K RWHP.

a 28X10.5 is allllllllllllll you need .
anything bigger you will have to cut up the bumper etc....
lastls1 who has a twin turbo car that runs 8.6's runs a 28, and not to mention alllllot of cars across the country that go well into the 8's with 28's.

Mr president. Here's a couple of things on reading your posts.
1) If you are launching at an angle, what rear-sway bar? Hopefully not stock. If you don't have a good drag rear-sway bar, try Wolfe, MadMan's. If you already have an aftermarket sway-bar, you need to check and make sure your ***-end is squared. You may need to adjust your LCA's.
2) Have you ever corner scaled your car? You may be off - i.e. more weight in front than you want. I have mine set at 53% front/47% rear.
3) MadMan recommended to me to start off with 3 in front and 6 in back. It has worked very well.
4) You may need/want 30" but you'll have to do a lot of trimming to get them to fit. I'll be running 30x10.5 Hoosiers with 3.50 gears. New rear-end will be narrowed 3" on each side. Rims are 15x10 w/6.5 B/S.
Good luck.
David

He has a drag bar now, but he is basing his info form before he put it in because he has not been back to the track yet to test it all out based from another thread I read. From what I saw of his car at the track, it did not go sidways, but more so had body twist to where the left front rose higher than the right front. The drag bar will cure that issue. Also, IMO the front shocks are setup way to stiff at the 6 setting, number 3 (or under) will allow better/faster front lift and better weight transfer for his setup.
You will have to chop both lower sides of your fender some, even with a 28" slick (because of growth) unless your fenders are different than mine.
