Would 97 SS 17x9 wheels allow me to run a taller drag radial tucked in wheel wells?

Default Would 97 SS 17x9 wheels allow me to run a taller drag radial tucked in wheel wells?
I was wondering if on the rear a 17x9 factory 97 SS wheel might be close to centered enough to allow a roughly 275 to 295ish by approximately 28 inchs tall tire.........to work, and tuck inside the wheel well????

i have 275 50 17 tires on mine in the rear, anything taller wouldnt fit

Ahhhh, about 27.83"s. That might fit my needs. I need to look into the M&H some.
