Default can optima battery be mounted upside down?

Will it affect the batteries performance?

You can mount the Optima or any GEL cell battery in any way you like.

I was thinking about putting it under the bumber cover upside down if it will fit.

I don't know about the original poster, but I was thinking about moving it to the rear and puting it under the rear bumper cover myself, that way it is relocated and there is no need for the sealed box that takes up a lot of room, plus it can be partially used to support the bumper if you remove the bumper support...

Sounds cool, unless you put it on the bumper.
Also you'll have to mount a cut off switch out back to be NHRA legal.

Thats the reason I wanted to move it there. Also the weight would be moved further back.
