Default Do you need the BCM for the power windows to know when to stop?

If so, how did the old cars with power windows work?

no you dont need it. on my lt1 car the only thing the bcm controlled was the one touch driver side roll down. when i cut eall the wires out of my car and re-wired it myself, i also had to wire the power windows myself. they work fine except now i have to hold the buttonto roll he driver window down. i think i could survive with that.

Did you follow any write-ups while rewiring your car or what did you use?

i figured it out on my own using a multi-meter. if you dont have a good understanding on how wiring, switches, and relays work, i wouldnt try do do it on my own. if you are comfortable with it you could always reference the wiring diagrams in the back of the haynes or chilton manuals.
