Default Tires 4 launching w/trans brake

Just looking to see what the guys launching off the trans brake are using for tires. I'm more concerned with the sidewall of the tire. Are you using a stiffer sidewall or a softer one. The M6 guys benefit from a stiffer sidewall and auto's usually softer but not sure if launching off a trans brake?
Thanks.

I use the Goodyear slicks with the D3 compound. They are a stiff sidewall. They hook every time for me.

if it is one the heavy side I would go with a stiffer sidewall due to all the weight

Not sure of the weight yet as it is an entirely new setup but I expect it to be pleasantly plump!

Basically if you're over 3000lbs the stiffer sidewall is reccomended.

what's up man!

i ran the 28x10.5" stiff side walla M/T's and they were awesome.

I've run the Hoosier 28x11.5 QTP's in my 6speed and they'd hook a low 1.4 on the 6000 dumps.

it's more of a suspension thing than a tire thing though. get the tire height correct for what you want to trap and your gearing.

You should run the stiff sidewall tire regardless since its a transbrake car. Aids in not wading up the tires and getting tire shake if/when the car is really leaving and making power.

I pretty much thought I would need a stiffer side wall leaving off the trans brake but needed to be sure first. I have 3.25 gears and am looking to use a 28" tire.

second vote for goodyears with the D3 compound, i run 28x11x15's they work awesome. cut a 1.37 60ft with the back tires on them. They also make a 10in version of them thats .5 in shorter.
