Question Just installed the MN12 into my T/A

just got done the tranny swap to the MN12, holy hell its nice.

before in 6th gear @ 2k i was at 78mph. now w/ the GTO tranny im at 68mph.

im rowing through the gears alot faster and more often now. i cant wait to see what it does at the track

here the specs of the 2 trannys

fbody z06/gto
1st - 2.66 2.97
2nd - 1.78 2.07
3rd - 1.30 1.43
4th - 1.00 1.00
5th - 0.74 0.84
6th - 0.50 0.56

and thats through the 4.10s lol im guessing it would b equivalent to about 4.30ish rear gear.

i should be shiftng into 4th around th 1/8 and hopefully it pulls me to the end w/ the 26" tire and get an ET and a P ot of it

what do you think?

It'll be about like having 4.56's with the standard ratio T56, except for 4th. It's a creative way to get the steep gear without having to rev the **** out of the motor to get it to MPH. Those shift points are going to come up fast...

yeah i know i already noticed that on the street lol.

i was think more along the lines of having 4.30s, but no biggie. im just trying a new/different setup and see what it yields.

With your setup 1st and 2nd are slightly more aggressive and 3rd is lightly less aggressive than an MN6 with a 4.56 rear gear.

It's the close ratio transmission from the c5 Z06 and GTO.

edit - it's also used in the c6 Z51

its the tranny code from Tremec. if you called them and said you wanted a MN6 youd get the fbody tranny, if you called for the MN12 youd get the gto tranny.
