Default M6 vs. A4

Ok here it is I have a 2000 A4 Camaro Z28 and Buddy of mine has a 1999 M6 Trans Am with a WS6 Hood. We both have the same mods done right now, mine are in the sig, with the only difference being he has a Magnaflow exhaust and I have the Corsa. We will both be putting in the same cam (TSP Magic Stick 4) and will also be getting new gears. I was thinking 3.73 for mine (the A4) and he is thinking 4.10 for his (the M6). Who should win a race, from a start at the drag strip and from a rolling start on the street? Just curious as all of you I would like no more than to beat another driver so I am looking for some input on the differences between these two setups. Lastly for this set up in my auto is it necessary to get a converter as well?

At the track it's all in the 60ft. On the street, the m6 with a good driver will have a better chance.

I think you will beat him at the track and he will beat you from a roll if he is a good driver. And BTW, hell yeah it's necessary to get a stall. Trust me you will love it.

I have had a TH350 and a Tremec in the same car with the same motor, with the same gears...

Result: The SAME ET. Stick mphed higher though. Last trip to the drags with a muncie 4 speed, variance in ET for the night: 0.001 Lets go to the bracket races.

A4 should win. But get a 3600 - 3800 stall as well.

Yea, you need a healthy stall for that big cam to work well. If you get a good TC, I say the A4 at the track.

if he had a 12 bolt and both of you were on slicks, and the m6 guy can smash the gears the m6 would win. i have a m6 and on a 3,700lbs car last year i was 1.42 60foots on motor. this year i will be in the mid to low 1.3 60's w/my new set up. for now,you would win.

you should get the yank 4000 stall before you get the MS4! let him get it and you get the stall and some DR's and whoop him good!

Quality of driving being the same.

You should beat him from a dig (whether on the track or street)....and he will probably edge you out from a roll

Without a higher stall converter in the A4 the M6 will win.
