Default Bolt on M6 short times

I'd like to see what some of the faster bolt on M6 short times are, preferably full weight cars.

My brother has an 02 M6 with LT's, tru duals, spec stg 3, lid, tune, QA1's up front, Comp 50/50's out back, LCA's, 275/60/15's, 9 inch with 4.11's and skinnies. Car is full weight at 3440 lbs w/o him. The car is consitantly shorting 1.84 - 1.86's with the tall Nitto DR's with no boggin and either a dead hook or 2 revolution shake. He is launching at 4200 with a quick clutch slip which seems to work best. He is waiting on LCA relocation brakets, adjustable torque arm, and sub frame connectors. Car seems to do well with the QA1's set to 1, but 3 doesn't help or hurt times.

Anything else he should try to get the times down? Do they look like good shorts?

Thanks,

Doug D

On that Vid he bogged he needs to launch higher. If it were myself I would launch at 5,000+ RPM as long as he has a good sticky tires, and the susp is dialed in he should be cutting low 1.6 to mid 1.6 60fts.

If you watch the video all the way through, he kept uping the launch RPM. Best short of the night was a 1.84 on Nitto's.

Ive cut 1.57 60's, car is full bolt on's and some weight out. It took me a while but I found that going to 28" tall tire helped but upping the gears to 4.56's made a major difference in the bog/hook/spin situation... problem is you're saying prayers before at the 1000ft that things stay together.

video was fun to watch. Needs more gear for a shorter 60' time and maybe a bias ply slick that grows a lot on the top end. Ive always wanted to try the 9x28 mt with 4.56 gear.

If you're going to be running drag rims put a real tire on there.

IMO 28" is too much for a bolt on car, stick with a 26" tire.

With basic weight reduction i.e. no spare tire, rear seats, bumper supports, swaybar and passenger seat I was cutting 1.78 60's in 7500 ft DA with a 26" ET Street and 4.30 combo, stock suspension, bolt ons, ~3550lb raceweight.

1.784 60' 12.865@106.424 (M6)

FWIW I'm running same gear tire combo at a 3170lb raceweight cutting 1.59-1.60 60's, bolt ons, still a stock suspension

Watching the video it looks like any rpm over 4300 seems to take off good. The front goes up the back goes down you get a small spin chirp and it takes off .Your suspension mods must work or else you would roast the nittos Im shocked they actually get traction at 4 to 5 k. How about deeper gears or shorter tires. I actually think you car or his car is PDQ already .

Thread resurrection! Good info here for a newb like me. This is why suspension is so important.

Wow, can't believe I wrote the above.

<inserts foot in mouth>

I'm stepping up to a 28" ET Drag with 4.88 gears, same mathmatical combo as 26" w/ 4.30s. I guess we'll see how she responds.

For that car I would have used a better tire and side stepped the clutch on the rev limiter =)

I've been able to 60' 2 bolt on Camaro's in the 1.5's Can't remember exactly if it was a low or high 1.5, but I know it was a 1.5

The cars had a 9" and a 12bolt, both had 4.11's and both were in the 3400lbs range, on 26x10.5 16 ET Streets.
