Default madman rack feels "notchy"

the car is still on jack stands but turning the wheel even without tires on the front there are spots that feel "notchy". Has anyone else noticed this, whats up?

Yep - I had this in mine, it was the harsh angle on the flaming river joints.

i figured it would be better with the car on the ground, I should have it back down on concrete in a few hours.

i had this happen with uni-steer kit for a 1st gen, u can try shortening the shaft or if its slight grind the inside of the joints where it binds. the uni steer kit is real budget piece and the welds were very sloppy on the steering shaft joints making for alot of excess metal and spatter causing the binding nothing the air grinder couldn't take care of.
