Default First trip to the track...A4 '02 WS.6

Well, the search function is down, fellas.

I will be taking my bone stock A4 '02 WS.6 to the track this week. What is the car capable of running bone stock?

What techniques do you guys use in launching an A4? Tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I will most likely be running the car in drive (3) FWIW.

look to run something better then a 13.5 1/4 anything faster be happy about! try different techniques like try launching off idle at first and then maybe stalling it just a bit and try that? either way pay attention to your 60ft times, get to hook and you should get some good ET's! good luck!

What can you stall the car at if it is bone stock?

I can get mine to about 1600 pretty safe without moving. To launch best you are going to need to see what works for you to get your best 60' times. I have been trying to stall to 1600 to load suspension, then drop rpms down to 1000 for actual launching. Also I launch from 1st gear since my car seems to short shift out of first. Dunno, still working on it. Do a search and then starttrying things and see what works for you. I could be wrong though, I am often wrong.

My Formula ran 13.47 at 103 mph bone stock.

Drive around the water box and either do a small (1-2 second) burnout to eliminate any water and clean the tires, or a few short dry hops. I stall the car with the stock converter to 900-1000 rpm and roll into the throttle on the street tires to not break traction, and this produced 2.00-2.05 as my usual 60 foot times. I'd run in drive or overdrive and leave the shifting to the transmission (I use OD, but there is a separate topic on that debate if you want to read the opinions).

Good luck and have fun!

Well, guys, dont laugh at me... hahaha..

Just got back from the track...I have never drag raced at all whatsoever

Made 4 passes. Screwed up on my third run as I punched it a little too fast out of the gate and lost traction, and that kinda rattled my nerves since I have never raced before. But it was cool.

My best was 13.89 at 101mph... bone stock on street tires.

stock should be close to 2.5

try a few things with tire pressure and stalling, find what works for your car and how well it hooks..
