First goal for 03 down: 10's on DR's thr. exhaust!
Went out to Stanton (MI) for some test & tune today. Air was okay, but 9-20 mph headwind. Went out with the Drag Radials on, radials up front, and the exhaust on. Since it was my first time out since last October, with new brakes (Strange), I decided to go "slow" and maybe start with just a 60' blast. I went out on the street yesterday and put about 50 miles on the car testing the brakes out...they feel nice with the stock power booster on.
Below, the DA's calculated from Weather Underground data and PAIN's (thanks) DA calculator)...
Anyways, here's the scoop...first run, leave from a flat punch off idle...felt so good, I decided to stay in it: 1.481 60', 10.911 at 123.54 with DA 60' with ~9 mph headwind. Made another run just as before: 1.484 60' 10.941 at 122.74 with DA 238' with 13.8 - 17.3 mph headwind.
I decided to open the exhaust and raise the launch up a bit to 1800 rpm: 1.439 60' 10.804 at 123.93 with 1.421 60'!!! 10.802 at 123.96 with DA 652' with 13.8 to 20.7 mph headwind! Final run of the day was the same as run 4: 1.427 60' with 10.787 at 124.25 with DA 686' with the same nasty headwind!
Only changes from my 10.72's at 125-126 mph from last October are as follows:
1) 325/50/15 DR's vs. slicks...can't wait to run it on slicks
2) 2000' WORSE air
3) Strange brakes (expensive but awesome stopping power and light weight)
4) Removed heater
5) Gained 10#'s on my gut vs. goal to lose 20#'s, so, I'm 30#'s the wrong way
6) Added in-car digital video camera...cool vids! Now, I just need to get a cable modem instead of this slow dial-up.
7) Spohn torque arm...actually set to 0 pinion angle as baseline...doubt if I'll change it right now
8) Got LS1edit recently but no changes made yet...time for some dyno time up at my buddy's shop
Raceweight according to Stanton's scale was 3114 to 3090 (exhaust Y on or off).
For those going to Norwalk with the COFBA on May 9th, now, I've got to decide if I'll come of DR's or slicks. Let's hope for good weather! Take care.
PS: Second goal for this year is to run 10.5x's (or 10.4x's) as-is on slicks when the weather gets nasty cold again this fall since I missed the real good early April air. Not bad for MAC's, GMPP heads, stock bottom end, original trans fluid (yeah, I'm lazy on some things) in the stock trans - except for the converter, not so big cam, and a non-spool rear. I love it!
For those not familiar with my modifications, do an archive search as I've got all the details out there.

Very Sweet Dave
Looks like my thoughts of a "daily tire" with a set of 15" BFG's may not be a bad idea
What time are you planning on heading out for Norwalk. My money has been sent to Bill, now i just gotta finish up the car.

Great runs Dave!! Early in the year too.
325/50R-15 = 27.9 O.D.
Dave, can you email me the hookup to the place that did your alignment, after the K-member install. Thanks. See ya later in the year.

GATOR'S, on the tires, my link to BFG is crapped out at the moment, but they are just shy of 28". I ran 14 psi cold. Section is just shy of 13" on a 10" rim.

Nice!
I'm not suprised how how you hook on those tires since that's what they use in that Mustang class that Big Daddy Gutridge runs in.

Two front runners in width for the price of one 325 DR! I need to take some digital pics of them on the car as they look mean as hell.

Look how the monster compares with the stock 215/65 off my Turbo T-Type. A bit more footprint.

Thanks.
Can you guys see the above pictures? Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't even when right clicking on SHOW PICTURE. I can make a car go fast, but I'm not the most proficient at the internet.
