Default Att:! 28 inch slicks on a camaro!

I have a 2000SS camaro. Typical h/c set up with a 150 shot of spray. Around 580rwhp on the button. I ran a set of 28 inch slicks and it squatted so hard of the line (1.51 60 ft time) that it cut the slicks up. My question is what are you camaro guy's doing to keep these things from rubbing/cutting into the tire? My car is lowered, but it is not hitting up top. It rubbed a hole in my rear bumber and pulled the lip out on the lower front part of the quater panel. I have all the adjustable suspension parts that you could possibly have under the rear. What gives? Should I stiffing up the QA1's in the rear? I see alot of camaro's running this size, so what are ya'll doing?

What rear are you runnning?
Is is shortened at all?
Do you have the fender lips rolled?
Have you had to do any massaging on the inner fender wells?

i ran 28x10.5 hoosier for a little and i had to trim away the front of the bumper cover and the metal lip at the front of the tire(towards the door). mine only rubbed on the big end when they started to grow, but they were tight to begin with

I cut a V shaped section out of the rear bumper cover and glued it back together. This works well.

I was running a crappy old 12 bolt from Moser untill it broke and then I went to a S60 from Strange. The only massaging I did was to the top of the fender wells since my car is lowered.

I was told if I turn up the stiffness on the QA1's in the rear it probably wouldn't rub as bad. Anybody running QA1's 12 way adjustable's on the rear? What # setting do you run? I was running mine on #2 setting and it squatted hard. I have a stock suspension up front and I'm afread that it won't hook if the suspension in the rear is too tight. I'm trying my damndest to hit the 10's this year but these little minor set backs are holding me up. Any more information will really be big help, and thanks to everybody else that has allready gave up some info.

Have you considered air bags:

Rear Air Bags

I usually don't run air in mine until I get to the track. The I run about 15-20 psi. I've had no problems with the 28" Hooiser Slick while using these bags.

Trying to dodge that option, but I will do whatever it takes to hook safely with the 28's!

Why? It's pretty simple. Put air in.....check pressure.

I agree. These are easy to install and easy to use. Make sure you install the valve in an easy to get to spot and you won't have to crawl under the car like I do.
