I know Scott Jantzer ran 10.8 with an old MMS 224 cam @ ~3100#. I ran
10.8 with an MMS 229/114ls cam (idles like a 224/112ls cam) @ 3220#.

Hey, Where is all the 10 second guys with the G5X-2 cam? I figured since it made 50 more horse than most cars they would be running 10's all day

I dont think he made it to 10's but I think abdullah went 121 MPH with a TINY comp cam on stock heads. Thats almost enough MPH to break into 10s for an M6. It was something like a 212/218 .522/.529 on 114. Hopefully he will chime in, dont want to miss quote him. His is a M6- and runs were at 3300 LBS.

MMS 224 V1 224/224 .535 .535 112

Track opens this weekend for us, so I'm gonna get another baseline with the new 12 bolt & 28" Hoosier combo and swap heads/cam and hit 10.50's stock shortblock.

Terry are you really just going to run bolt-ons? and why?

Angie went 10.83 @ 122.9 w/ 1.41 60' at 3060 raceweight with the TR220/.553/112.

I went 10.59 @ 128.5 w/ a 1.43 60' at 3360 raceweight with the TR240/236 solid roller.

I swapped in a rebuilt 346ci (LS6 pistons/rods) with GTP stg 2 heads and my old TR230/224 111lsa cam and went 10.88 @ 125.5 on a 1.51 60' with a raceweight similar to what it was with the solid roller.

Gotta love the 6-speed.

Jason, you and your damn M6's HAHHA

Angie's car is friggin light!! Ive got another 250 or so pounds before I would reach that weight empty

but 10's with a 220 cam is awesome!

Weight is the key...
Get the car to 3400 or less and its not that hard to run 10's.

I truelly believe the TR cam (224-561)is VERY capable of 10's in a 3400lb car.Car just needs to be setup properly.

IMO the TR224 is still one of the best HP/TQ making cams to date.

Just for a little while, then I'll do heads/cam/forged shortblock.
I'm trying to have some fun with the car for not a lot of money
so I can pay off my debt. I just paid off my truck with the money
I got selling my 396 (w00t!). My Z28 is interest free so no reason to pay that off,
but I have another $6000 in credit card debt I want to get rid of before
the new engine. Probably only take a couple months if I can stop spending money.

My new combo is technically a bolt on motor but I've done a few tricks
that these guys will balk about. I'll post more details after I know
if they worked.

I ran a best of 10.89 with a Comp 220/224 "baby" cam, and a best of 10.83 with a 226/226 GTP cam (which was considered big back then ). Stock cid, GTP heads, raceweight was probably around 3250lbs back then.

ahhhh yeah... those are the mods I wanted to see running 10's with that raceweight. If it can be done once, it can be done again.... looks like alot of cars running upper 10's with similair mods

just need good air, track, and 60'
