Default 4150 tb/105mm and vic jr/super vic, questions

Okay, i've tried to find information that would be helpful to me but I haven't found exactly what I want and now the search feature doesn't seem to be working so i'll just ask.

I currently have a vic jr/accufab 105mm tb with a fabbed elbow. I want to know if i'm leaving anything on the table with regards to using a 4150 style 4-hole tb vs my current elbow mounted 105mm. Also, was thinking about moving to the super vic as my car is pretty much a drag car. Has anyone seen differences between these two?

I would still use my custom 4" tubing coming from the front of my car to whichever tb would be best for my situation.

Please, if someone has info or thoughts on the subject, I would appreciate the feedback, thanks,
-=Josh=-

Dude thats a bad *** setup! How did you get a 4 inch pipe down there in front of the radiator?
There was a recent thread here about the same thing, guy with a truck picked up around 60 rwhp on a 408 when he went from an elbow to a 4150.

Yeh, go to the dyno section and look around. There is a post of a guy with a 408 in a truck that picked up 60 rwhp with this swap.

You can do a 4150 style 4 hole and put a carb hat on it and use your tubing like you have now.

I believe you will pick up some hp with a 4150. I am debating the swap myself.

Basically I just leaned the radiator back toward the engine an inch or so and then drilled new holes for the plastic top support. Then, had to grind on the plastic and then slightly on the radiator, but only on a part where it was safe to grind oun. Then just welded that stainless and tried to smooth out the welds. It's also in 2 pieces as you can see in the pic. The couplers I used are stainless and I found them in the plumbing section of Menards I had to grind out lots of rubber on the throttle body side to make it fit correctly.

Yea, I saw that but I was looking for more positive feedback b/c I know this seems to be working well now. That truck also went from a 90mm (accufabs 90 flows CORR @ 28" - 1369 CFM) and went to a 4500 style (accufabs flows 2128), quite a bit of difference lol. I don't know if I want to run an adapter which will raise the tb even higher (about 2 inches).

Also, after checking Accufabs site, it looks like my current 105mm out flows the 4150 style one (i'm not sure where they rate the 4150 style at but they said something like 1215 cfm's where the 105mm was rated at CORR @ 20" - 1270, CORR @ 25" - 1422, CORR @ 28" - 1504)

More variables lol.

I currently have a victor jr intake. I was going to go with a elbow from intakeelbows.com and a NW 92mm TB but after some research and talking to a few people on here, from what I see, I will make more power with a carb style TB, so I bought a 4150 to 4500 2" adapter and a 4500 Dominator TB setup. No dyno numbers with this setup yet, but it should be tuned soon.

Another way to go about it, is go with Cary's intake and that's got a 4500 flange on it right off the bat, and will outflow the edlebrock single planes and the GM ones by about 50 hp, it's $ but still not at sheet metal prices, and it's making mroe bottom end then the sheet metal does, so it's a win win IMO

Really I dont think thats gonna be an issue. OUTLAWZ runs a setup like I am thinking about, he has the Accufab. I have a 1300 cfm Monoblade on mine. I doubt VERY seriously it will slow down with a 4 hole setup.

I dont see you needing a 4500 setup. Call Accufab.

The only reason I went with a 4500 setup is because I couldn't pass the deal up.

This guy went from 512rwhp with a elbow and 90mm to 562rwhp with a 4500 FAST TB.

Yea, I saw that. That's amazing that it picked up so much. I ported my intake myself and wonder how much i'd pick up if I ran the spacer and a 4500 tb. My question is what would the difference in height be, seems like it might be similar but idk. If I could gain something similar along with my intake being ported, i'd hopefully be looking somewhere under 600rwhp (probably too optimistic but can't blame a guy for hoping )
