Hah.. I found one of my older slips from the track, that's where I went first time out with my new cam, and nitto drag radials. Could not launch for ****. Well with this set up and 4400 Yank PT, there was no way to get any traction. So with ridiculous 2.3 60 foot, I still ran 12.2 and 117.6 mph. Hmmm, I wonder what this will do with my new draglites and slicks.

Dang...that thing will probably go 11.20s-11.40s if you can get it to cut a 1.6 60'
Thats kinda weird though...your trap is good but usually a 2.3 60' means wheelspin...to run that ET I'd think you'd be trapping falsely high...like closer to 120...hmmm

Whats your setup consist of? Is it a 34x" motor?

Yes it was a major wheel spin. It's a 347 motor with cam only/ stock unported heads. It's a T-rex v2 cam.

the wheel spin did make the mph higher. withthe new tires itll run quicker but the mph will drop

The higher the 60ft the higher the trap speed. If you cut a sub 2.0 lets say, chances are your mph will go down. But your ET will as well. My guess would be somewhere in the 11.5-11.6 range. -Mark

Yeah, that sounds about right. Well, if I hit 11.5 I'd be happier than hell!
Funny how some of these cars with no cams are running same time that I am aiming for, with all this crap installed.
All I know is if this ****** will run slower than 11.7.. I am selling it to someone who acctualy knows how to build cars.

I wouldn't sell the car based on that. There are alot of factors. Traction and weight being the 2 biggest ones. I know its a ford but look at the new shelby cobra. 500hp but with a 3800lb chassis. Ya it makes great power but it needs it to get it going but yet a C6 Z06 with the same hp with a weight of 3100 and it will put bus lenghts on it. Its all relative. -Mark

I've always found out different with 60' vs mph. The better (Lower) my 60' is the faster it traps. This was the same with my old car and my current car

I'd say with a 1.6 or better 60 foot you're looking at 11.50s. Good luck making a better run!

I call it the rubberband theory. But basically with wheel spin you are really make the 1/4 mile longer (in theory) as you spin the tires and don't go anywhere hence the higher mph.

Or..... Take your car out in the rain. From a dig floor it and watch the speedo. What happens? The car will hit 40-50 lets say within 20ft. Now do that on a dry road. You will hit the same mph just it will take you longer. That's how I understand it. -Mark

BTW. There is no way I will sell this car, I had it for a while now, spend so much time and money on it, plus all the good times with it, I love this thing.
I'll post up as soon as I get new times! I just pray for the rear end to let me launch 4 good times and then get home in one piece

aleast make sure someone is there at the track with you to watch your burnout...if you get the one wheel peel going you better pack it up and call it a day...
