Default Can I do better with my current setup?

I went to a local 1/8 mile track to test out the new suspension and rims and tires before the big date at Fontana. Here is my best run from last night?

Irwindale Drag Strip
Altitude: 560ft

R/T: .732
60': 2.023
330: 5.627
1/8: 8.502
MPH: 87.53

This was my quickest and fastest run but my best 60' was 2.000. I was brakestanding to 1300 and then mashing it to full throttle very shortly afterwards.

I know there's always room for improvement but do those numbers seem just about right?

That run was with all the mods listed below.

One other thing to note is that the car was VERY consistent. I was running 8.55 +/- .05.

Thanks guys!

I would get some better hooking tires, and try leaving at different RPMS out of the hole

honestly thats about it. You may get in the 8.4's but untill you do some "go fast parts" work thats about the best you will see. Headers, STALL, gears(dont need them though), pulley and etc could help alot.

Default Re: Can I do better with my current setup?

Thanks. I wanted to know if that was my best with those mods because i think i've got the launching down to the point where i can cut 2.0x consistently. I have 4 passes with 2.0x shorts.

Now for the big stuff. My TCI shift kit came in today and my Vigilante 3600 is going back in. When i had it in before, my tranny burnt a few clutches and bands so I don't know if i can trust the converter, even though it's still gay pink.

With that setup along with some radials I hope to hit deep in the 12s.

Any input on how to launch with that stall converter?
