Default What Transmission Shield?

Is there a LS1 4L60E shield available? Or what blanket is everyone using. The local track won't let me run anymore without one.

Any weights of what you have would be helpful too.

thx.

I dont know for sure about the 4L60E, but there is a replacement shield available for the 400 T. I just got one. The stock gets machined off, and the new is 400 times stronger, and SFI approved.

I believe it was a JW. Check out Summit, or Jegs. Maybe even contact JW & ask them to make one for you.

I have the RCI blanket. To my knowledge there is no sheild for the 4L60E. The blanket isnt light but it is made to stop flying shrapnal which to me is alot more important than weight. If you havent seen a tranny explode then you might not agree. When they go its pretty much like a small grenade under the car and it will take out the tranny tunnel and anything in its way. There are some pics of a tranny explosion that happened earlier this year to a local guy on www.gofastzone.com

Thanks for the help. I do agree safety is important so weight isn't my primary concern, but definately a selling point if there are different options.

I'll contact Art Carr and see what they say.

thx
