Default Not doing well with convertor

I ran for the first time with new convertor about 1 month ago on bald Nitto's(275/40/17).Also with GMAF.
Then replaced tires with new 315/35/17 Nitto's also replaced GMAF with stock maf. Last time ran
1.82
8.2/85mph
12.82/106.6mph
Now this time same weather conditions (i think).
1.89
8.2/85
12.89/106.2mph
I really don't think i have this convertor under control yet.
I mean a 1.8 60 ft is not my idea of good. tires are at about 25psi and i found the convertor hits em very hard. Any advise is greatly appreciated. Why high 12's and why 1.8 60 fts??
On a 100 shot of spray i ran 11.80@115 with a 1.62,but had to very gently roll into that run.
Sorry so long. Just need some help here. Thanks.

How are you leaving the line?? Are you you stalling the car. Or are u just mashing the gas on green off idle.

I hold brake and set rpms to about 1100 then roll into the throttle. I made the mistake of just dropping the pedal 1 time and spun all the way through first,OOPS. I followed the recommendation of the guy that had the convertor before me. 1100 rpm and roll into it. He pulled a best of 1.58 all motor. (Now that's impressive!)

Dave,

Bring the tire pressure down on the Nitto's. I always race with mine at about 17 psi and would consisitently get low 1.6 60's...grant it that was with the vig 3200.

ET Streets at 15lbs HOT are a must,Killer burnout
Bring rpm to 1800 and slam the gas on the last yellow.

I went 1.5's with this technique running the same verter u have and et streets.

Good luck.....

Well just for comparisons sake.
I ran high 12 teens to low 12 twentys all at 111+ mph. The air was gooooooooood.
You just got to be spinning, spinning, spinning.
I'm going to be there tomorrow too. We'll talk then.

for one your 60 sucks.. with a 1.8 60 i was in the 12.4-7 range just cause if you cant hook or get that hole shot in a A4 your ET's gonna suck! Bald nittos are not gonna hook. After a while the center in mine went out and its nothing to could do to make them hook. 25PSI is to much in nittos, try 18-20!! I had a slight roll with my 3600 before I wot'ed it and still cut a 1.58-1.64's. The vig hits HARD off the line. Its a HOLESHOT type stall so if you cant get off the line its gonna suck. If you get down in the 1.6's you et''s will be in the 12.0-12.3 range for sure!

my burnout was longggg and up to the tree on nittos.. but they usually hooked awesome on my car! 11.95@112 on them with a 1.58 bolt on

oh and btw, you vig3600 is ok on spray, but mine hated the JUICE... You dont have enough shift extension on the stock rev limiter and parts for it to help

Al- Thanks for the comparision. I am not spinning THAT much, but i am not able to hammer down the way this convertor would like, to work it's best. Ya ,it's raining and not racing tonight- . But the next time i'm at the track we will talk then. Thanks again.

98TAauto- I know im not doing nowhere near as good as you did with this vertor, but i am still trying to get this dance down pat. Thanks for your info on how to hook this thing up. I will hope for good weather by Wednesday and try again.
I did find out that i am running my nitrous jetting very rich... that will change for the next track day. That's why they call it (Test-n-Tune) right?! Thanks .

try stalling closer to 1500 rpms and yeah, maybe some better tires than those nittos, at least BFG DRs, but I would recommend Hooiser QTP's because that is what I run and you can see in my sig that they work well

I have run both Nitto's and BFG's,for me they both seem to be the same amount of bite. Just the Nitto's need a lot more burn out to get sticky. And last longer on street too.
I have a friend that is loaning me a pair of E/T streets,
26/11.5/16 .
I will see just how hard this vertor hits those tires very soon. I will post the results.
