Default Steering wheel airbag removal questions....

I am going to remove the airbag from my steering wheel (2002 Camaro) and try to reinstall the cover. I have heard of a few people doing it. Will my horn and stuff still work? What needs to be done to reattatch the cover? I plan to just drill the rivets holding the airbag on.

I am not sure about the cover, but just a suggestion. The wire that you disconnect from the airbag. If you leave it in there(one white and one green) You can use them for something else. example n02 or Tbrake or linelock or what ever else pushbutton you may have. All you have to do is trace it down at the bottom of the collumn(same colors) and tap into them there. Just leave the circular thing in there and only unplug the airbag if this is what you want. This way it is prewired.

I just got done gutting the factory wheel.

I removed the airbag module thing (no idea what its called) and took the airbag out. Saved a couple lbs anyway.

Where is the airbag control module? I can safely remove that right?

I thought so. I hate pulling my console! I got tons of wiring under that thing.

So has anyone found a "cheater" method of pulling the passenger airbag?

^^^^^^That looks pretty good.
How much weight did that save over the standard air bag wheel?

I heard you need a MOMO adapter to get the after market steering wheels to work, is that true?

I like my steering wheel radio controls.

Street car baby!

I like the looks of the grant wheel but with my bag out I bet the weight difference is less than 2 lbs, which isn't worth the $$$.
