Default Wheels Up Launch @ Fbody Event

Here is a picture of my 10.78 @ 123.45 run at the NFME event in Indianapolis on May 8th. The 1/8 was 6.84 at 99.7 with a 1.48 60ft time. This is a bolt car with NOS dry shot using dual .038s.

I can not seem to launch my car well. What pressure you run and what rpm do you leave at?

The car weight for this race was about 3370 which includes my 170 lbs.

Engine mods:Hooker long tube headers with Hooker 3" Y pipe and a Dynomax bullet muffler, Electric water pump, Stock throttle body ported and smoothed to 75mm, Thunder Racing/HP3 engine programing.

A4 Transmission mods:Trans Go shift kit,Yank PT4400 converter

Suspension modsA K member and A-arms, Kenny Brown DD subrame, Spohn solid motor mounts, Spohn torque arm, Billingsly racing LCAs, Metco relocation brackets, BMR panhard rod, Hal shocks and springs front and Hal shocks rear, Strange 12-bolt with Strange full spool

There are all the typical weight loss items to be removed, I am not going to list them as they can be found in the weight reduction list.

I run 27x11.5x15 Hoosier QTP DOTs on 10" rims. Tire presuure is 13.5 lbs before the burnout. I footbrake the converter to 2500 and then punch it. On the bottle it will flash to about 5400. The tranny shifts 1-2 at 6150 and 2-3 at 6250 and crosses the finish line at 6250.

This might not answer all the questions but its a start.

Do a search in this forum and you should find it. The Colonel started it over 2 years ago. It is a very complete listing of weight reduction items and most of their weights. Good information.

Here a picture of the next run in the other lane. The divider is in the way of the drivers side wheel but you can see both wheels are up. Timing in pictures is critical and it is very difficult to get a good picture. This run was a 10.80 @123.07 mph with a 1.48 60 ft.
