Default I need to hit 1.5-1.4 60ft with my ET Streets/A4

My buddy Sean is king for this week. He bested my best by 4 tenths. Now I need the best you guys have to help me hit 1.5-1.4s with my ET Streets/A4. The best I can muster so far is 1.76. The car is just spinning em out of the hole. Burnout is about 7 sec. with a good amount of smoke. Lauching goes like this, 23-2500rpm on the converter, then punch it when its time to go. I run the tires at 16psi, but it looks like that has to drop. I added a BMR tubular K member so that'll help I hope, but lets get back to moving this pig to low 60fts. I have lakewood LCA's, BMR Trak PAK with the pinion angle set to -2.5 degs. I run ET Streets of the 26x11.5x15 persuasion out back, stock springs no airbag, stock shocks. What is the best tire pressure to run for low 60s(no freaks with 20+psi out back cuz that ain't going to happen at this track) auto combos with stalls in the range of what I have (3800vigilante) ANY help is appreciated except for the dude who says run a search, because I need to know NOW :p
Here is two examples of the car launching the first has my typical burnout

8.8megs

3megs or so.
Thanks to those that help me in my quest to low 11's

10-12 Psi hot. good for 1.64 on the "king of the week" m6.

How are you going to go out and go 11's again?? Did you put a cage in??

(whats the secret to the track guys letting you run without a cage. come on tell me!!)

Get a 1LE rear anti-sway bar. Sounds like you might be getting twist and both rear tires are not planting evenly. I've got dial up and videos take forever.

I was running 27 psi in my ET Streets just last Wednesday and hit a 1.59 60'.

... no airbag, stock shocks ...
Here's your problem ... tweeking tire pressure is good for fine tuning a properly set up suspension for track condtions and it can compenstate for a poor suspension on a mild bolt on car.

You need to stiffen up the rear, HALs or KYBs or some other drag shock and airbags ...

Good Luck

King Sean, planning on going to "work" on the launch and if it hooks good, my foot will stay in it and that pass will be my last, just got to see the 60ft on the boards to see if the foot stays down. No cage, can't afford one right now, I'm not sure if I want to put a cage in my daily driver anyway. Might be too risky if I get into an accident on the street, can't wear the helmet everywhere, I might look funny Since we race at the same place I will take your advice since it is working for your beast. I will drop them to 10psi to see what happens, thanks again.

all the rest of the guys, thanks but the launch technique is pretty much cut and dried the track is pretty sad traction wise but they are working on it. Larry, mystic thats what I'll work on now. Damn you guys on the 1.5 60's with 18-2x air pressure lol

Just try what works. I was swaying pretty hard at the other end at 12 psi. I wouls love to run the pressure up but my stock suspension just doesnt seem to alow it (barring lca's and phr).

PS. LOL- same plan as I had n friday. Leave the 11 for the last pass after eveything sems to be hitting good.
You should go friday, I want to watch.

Thanks for the help Sean, I will be there Wed and Friday. Need to get in some practice lol. As for the low tire pressure, thats what I am afraid of, getting loose on the topend that **** scares me. But it has to be done
I want to dyno it tomorrow to see how much hp the new racetronix fuel pump set up will support and tune the N2O from there, starting with a 35hp shot and working my way up to a 75-100 hopefully.

I hope you get your problem solved also! I have the same problem. 1.7's are the norm. I don't have any suspension work either, well besides the front sway bar being removed. I have tried 18, 15 and 13 psi in the tires and that doesn't work. After I get my project car done I am gunna go with LCA's and relocation brackets, QA1's, sfc's, and possibly a panhard rod and a stb.

I've heard that daily driving on drag radials can cause the compound to harden up, and they don't stick quite as well even after being heated up. If you're really having that much problem hooking up (and you're tired of the swaying on the top end), look into getting some Hoosier QTP 27x11.5's.

have you tried launching the converter at different rpm's? Try 1800 instead.

How old are your slicks?

I switched from mt's to hoosiers and traction was there.

Josh, I will be following that route too, rear shocks, relo's, a bag, and a beefier swaybar to see what happens. I figured with the BMR Trak Pak with the pinion angle set to -2.5, ET Streets, Boxed LCA's and an auto 1.5s were a sure thing, DAMN Car

SMOKINV8 I am leaning towards those QTP's all the time, I shoulda bought them in the first place.

Cain Yep tried varing lauch RPMs from almost off idle to 2500rpm, the Vig hits hard and the ATI puts boost down imediately so the car spins em on our track. The track guys are getting the hang of laying down the VHT so hopefully thats were the problem is.

Zturbo, Slicks are about 4 months old, I don't drive the car very much just to work and back home. About 4miles total. Then I cruise the Astro Van :p
Another one for the QTP's I guess its time to place an order with summit.
Thanks everyone,
Jeremy

You have a 3800 Vig?

With the power levels your putting out, it's probably stalling to the moon. I bet your car would be faster with a smaller stall.

As far as air pressure... I would start at 18psi and work my way down till the car hooks.

Actually.. the guys laying down the VHT maybe hurting you. VHT has to be dry to do any good. Best to follow a slick tire car. Look for a fast car with slicks and line up behind him. Be sure to line the car up in his tracks.

Last, do you run skinnies up front? If not, drive around the water box and back into the water.

Hope this helps!

guys your help paid off, it lifted a wheel finally!!!
I ran tires at 14psi. This got me into the 1.66 60ft range.
Couldn't make an all out pass as tech warned me about my lack of cage to do so.
I went 12.4at85mph letting off at 1/8mile 1.66 60'
next passes were at 12psi this didn't gain me anymore on the 60ft but the car got real loose on the topend.
pass #2 was 12.1 at 99, 1.68 60, third was 12.1 at 100 same 60ft. Fourth pass I tried to stretch it to a 12.00 but ended up going 11.80 at 110 letting off about +/-300ft before the lights. 60ft was 1.70 on that pass. The car was moving for sure, I expected the cats to slow it down a lot but it doesn't seem like it did.

Wilwaxu Yep its a 3800 I use to run a PD at 6psi. It made 428 now I make 515at9psi with the ATI, it worked well with the lil PD.
Here is a pass tell me what you think about how high it stalls

That's a great Picture Jeremy. I knew it would do it. If I were you I would just get the
extreme duty sway bar from BMR. No need for a air bag then. I'll let you know when I order mine.
