I Know - Another new best - But Finally 11's
I have seen many put up their new best. Most are outstanding and congrats to all. I have hesitated in putting up a post, but what the heck.
Last year was a totally loss. Everything that could break, did. Push-rods, 2 trannies, rear-end, DS. You name it.
Best up to this last weekend was 12.06 last year and 12.08 this year - all on a 75 shot; 12.67 on the engine. Recently, upgrade the 26x10x15 ET Drags for some 28x10.5x15. Way to big for engine only. But I kept blowing off the tires and running out of gear on nitrious. The 26x10's are perfect for engine only. Engine is stock. 6150 rev limiter still in effect. 12-bolt w/430's, spooled. Oh did I mention the ****-eating track ? and minimum 2500 DA?
Any way, Saturday, warmed up the engine on a couple slower engine only passes. Put in the 100 shot. Upped the tire pressure to 15lbs (28x10.5's). Up the 2-step to 5800 rpms. Good burn-out.
First run:
1.667 60'
7.564 1/8 at 90.668
11.797 1/4 at 112.490
Holy crap from 12.06 to 11.797. My first 11 second run
2nd run lowered tire pressure to 14lbs:
1.625 60'
7.517 1/8 at 91.221
11.732 at 112.262
3rd run - 14.5 lbs:
1.593 60'
7.490 at 90.756
11.734 at 111.340
Not bad: 3 straight 11.7 runs. After a year and half of frustations, finally . Oh yea, this was on ricer day. Just blew their minds that a basically stock street car could do 11.7's.

The closest "rice" was a totally built Eagle - but in all honesty it continues to have electrical problems. A built 68 Camaro and early 80's Stang could only muster 12.9's. It was good to get some really good runs in.

Thanks Coach. I have been bracket racing every weekend that the track is open. BUT, when you red light evey damn time, it's something I don't write about. The lights are killing me. Either a .008 or .017 red light; getting use to the new rear-end and gears - no slack now . This weekend is hopefully a start of a "new" season.

Congrats David! I remember the first time I ran 11s. That was one of the happiest days I have had with my car.
Keep getting those times lower and lower!
