Default narrowed 9" question...

Going to narrow the 9" in my car. My question is How much can I go without modifing the stock suspension location. I would like to go 2.5"-3" and run a 15x10 with 5" to 4.5"BS(running 15x10 with 7.5" now). Thanks for any input.

mine is narrowed 3.75" per side and it's about as close as you can get, the housing end is no more than 1/10" from the lower arm bracket.

I was told that with Big ford ends you can get it closer but will start to run into fitment issues if you are not careful.

My car is minutubed and i'm using a 10" wheel with a 5.5" BS

The most you can narrow the rear and maintain the stock suspension is 5.5 inches / side. You're going to have to do a lot of geometry changes though. That's how I plan on stuff a 15 x 12 in the rear.

They are alumistar 2.0 wheels you have to have the custom made but let me tell you they sit very nicely in the fender well and it gives you the extra tread patch so the tire isnt so unstable on the top in like it is with a 15x10 I have run both.

OK I'm stupid but why narrow to fit the same size rim? Is it just to have a biger selection of rims?

less weight, deeper dish look, tucking tires are all good reasons

If you narrow the rear end, at what point do you have to relocate things like panhard bar mounts and lower control arms?

How big of tires are you guys running with or without these chassis mods and what width rear and tire/ rim size and offset do you use?
