Fast Eddie's 02 T/A vert.

Is there anyone out there using 3.42s w/A4.I took my T/A in to have 3.23s installed and they all told me that would be a waste of money.They said who ever told you to run 3.23s doesn't know what they're talking about.

I told them i'm getting my info from LS1Tech.I think i've learned just enough here on this board to get myself in a jam...my car is in pieces while i try to figure out what gears would be logical to run.

They are telling me to run 3.42s.The car is stock w/cat back and a lid.

Please advise.

atleast a 3.42 if not a 3.73.

Fast Eddie,my vote goes to the 3.42's. You will still get good gas mileage (when not racing) and pick up some on acceleration,but not causing too much spin like with 3.73 gears.
For what its worth that is my humble opinion.

if you have 2.73's then you either should go 3.42's or 3.73's

if you have 3.23's its a waste to go to .42's

i still have 3.23's with no issues... love them in fact. Nice STRONG gear

That combo has worked well in my car.Some tuners think that it is the best combo for racing or Hwy driving. I get 28mpg and still run low 11s and trap 119-120mph in 90degree temp through the 1/4mi.

Me. I think that I might 60' better with a steeper gear but over all it's a good combo.
