Default Optima Yellow Top weight vs. Odyssey 925 weight: test inside

tossed em both on a scale today.

Odyssey 925 weighs 21 lbs 13 oz, Optima Yellow top with double posts weighed 43 lbs, 12 oz.

I'm shaving 22 lbs by making the switch.

Just an FYI for anyone thinking of getting an Odyssey.

Is the Odyssey strong enough to run in the back if you have your battery trunk mounted?

I told you it was 22lbs. Are you still having a problem with the cables? With my 98 there were no problems at all.

Yeah, I'm having problems with the cables still. I'm going to have to extend the positive cable about 6" and I also have to buy the smaller bolts to connect to the battery terminal since the stock ones are too big.

and the SVR I have with the mount/adapters is 12lbs.
Any more info on the SVR, where to get it, price etc?
And how does it compare to the Hawker/Genesis lightweight (13 pounds I think?).

100.00 with the mount kit/cable adapters, need to drill one hole in the plastic battery tray to mount it. I have had it in the car for 2 months and I bought it used. Never had a problem with starting it, dont drive it every day and it sits for days at a time and always starts, even at the dragstrip starting it and shutting it off quick 10 times in the staging it hasnt died yet (knock on fake wood). You just have to watch what you leave on and for how long.

The Odyssey 925 has a 470 Cold Cranking Amps rating. Your factory battery has a 525 rating. I am sure it will start your car alright but don't leave any accessories on very long without the engine running. I like to run my fans during rounds. I would be hesitant with that small battery.

Big Bos...the optima red tops are comparable to stock batteries in weight..the yellow tops are the heavier ones.

I've got my battery woes fixed!! Everything is installed and running well. I had to use Toyota battery bolts to mate with the battery :p No problems with running my a/c, lights, and aftermarket stereo so far. I'm taking no chances and not leaving stuff on w/o the car running.
